Pure Bathrooms (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we use and store it, and the choices available to you.
We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
1. Who we are

2. What personal information we collect
We only collect information that we reasonably need in order to quote on, plan and carry out renovation work, and to respond to your enquiries. This may include:
- Contact details — your name, email address and phone number, as submitted through our enquiry forms.
- Enquiry details — the content of your message, and any information you choose to give us about your project, property or renovation requirements.
- Project and site information — measurements, plans, photographs of the work area, and property access details, where relevant to a quote or job.
- Transaction records — quotes, invoices, payment records and correspondence relating to work we have carried out.
- Technical information — limited information collected automatically when you visit the website, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you view. See our Cookie Policy for detail.
We do not collect sensitive information (such as health, racial or ethnic origin, political or religious beliefs) and we ask that you do not send it to us.
3. How we collect it
We collect personal information:
- directly from you, when you complete a form on our website, call us, email us, or speak with us in person;
- during the course of quoting on and carrying out renovation work;
- from referrals, where you have asked someone to put us in touch with you; and
- automatically through our website, as described in our Cookie Policy.
Where it is reasonable and practicable, we collect personal information directly from you.
4. Why we collect it and how we use it
We use your personal information to:
- respond to your enquiry and provide you with a quote;
- plan, schedule, carry out and complete renovation work;
- communicate with you about your project, including scheduling and progress updates;
- issue invoices and process payments;
- handle warranty matters, defects and complaints;
- meet our legal, insurance, tax and QBCC licensing obligations; and
- improve our website and our services.
If you have consented, we may also contact you occasionally about our services. You can opt out at any time — see section 8.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share it with:
- Our tradespeople, suppliers and subcontractors, where they need it to carry out or supply materials for your project (for example, your address and site access details);
- Service providers who help us operate our business and website — including our website host, email provider and IT support — who are permitted to use the information only to provide those services to us;
- Our professional advisers, such as accountants, insurers and lawyers, where reasonably required; and
- Government bodies, regulators or courts, where we are required or authorised by law to do so.
6. Overseas storage and disclosure
Our website is hosted by WP Engine and delivered through Cloudflare. Some of the service providers we use operate infrastructure located outside Australia, which means your information may be stored or processed overseas. Where we disclose personal information to an overseas recipient, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
7. Cookies and website tracking
Our website uses a small number of cookies, and loads fonts from a third-party provider. We do not currently run advertising or analytics tracking on this website. Full detail is set out in our Cookie Policy.
8. Direct marketing and opting out
If we send you marketing communications, every message will include a way to unsubscribe. You can also opt out at any time by emailing us at [email protected] or calling 0487 926 240. Opting out of marketing will not affect communications about work we are carrying out for you.
9. Data security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These steps include restricting access to those who need it, using reputable service providers, securing our website with encryption in transit (HTTPS), and keeping our systems up to date.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. While we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security, and any information you send us over the internet is sent at your own risk.
10. How long we keep it
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, or for as long as we are required to keep it by law — including record-keeping obligations relating to building work, tax and insurance. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to destroy it or de-identify it.
11. Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. Contact us using the details in section 14. We will respond within a reasonable period, and there is normally no charge. If we refuse a request, we will explain why in writing.
12. Data breaches
If we become aware of a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm, we will assess it and, where the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme requires, notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
13. Complaints
If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first using the details below so we have the opportunity to put it right. We will acknowledge your complaint and aim to resolve it promptly.
